KLSE News: 19 June 2013 – Small Cap Index (+28%) outperformed KLCI (+4.8%)

The KLIA2′s new opening date is May 2 2014, Malaysia Airports said. It said
in a statement that the main contractor for the terminal building, UEMC-Bina
Puri JV has confirmed that the completion date will be April 30 2014. MAHB
said the completion date will be inclusive of all parties securing the Certificate of
Completion and Compliance (CCC) and Operational Readiness & Airport
Transfer (ORAT). “Based on the revised completion date by the contractors, we
are targeting to open klia2 on May 2 2014,” it said.

KLSE News: 18 June 2013 – Rise of the Mid-Cap in KLSE due to EPF….

The EPF is considering expanding its investment portfolio and increasing its
investment assets in the new sectors this year. CEO Datuk Shahril Ridza
Ridzuan, said the new sectors are healthcare and industrial, among others.
Currently, EPF’s main contributors were fixed income (Bursa Malaysia and
government bonds), which accounted for 65% and 35% from equities and others,
he said. “We are looking at the sectors that are actually robust this time and not
so dependent on economic cycles as we want to maintain our record in bringing
stable returns to our depositors. “Our target has always been to provide the real
return, which is inflation plus two per cent.” (Bernama)

KLSE News: 17 June 2013 – FGV expanding more to Kalimantan & Cambodia….

Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) sent out an official
letter stating that it wanted out of the Nusa Gapurna deal. This is a few days
ahead of MRCB’s EGM. Sources said that PKNS is instead looking at buying
back the 70% stake it does not own in the PJ Sentral project. The 70% stake is
currently owned by Nusa Gapurna. “This is on the instruction of MB Tan Sri
Khalid Ibrahim, who feels that if Nusa Gapurna wants out, the state entity
should buy back the development.” a source said. A source from within the state
government said that MB Tan Sri Khalid does not think PKNS is getting a good
deal as Nusa Gapurna and wants to exercise the option to buy back the 70%

KLSE News: 13 June 2013 – Possible merger with MBSB and RHBCap…

Hartalega Holdings Bhd yesterday sealed a conditional sales and purchase
agreement to buy 45ha of land in Sepang, Selangor, for RM96.9m. The land will
be acquired via its wholly-owned subsidiary, Hartalega NGC Sdn Bhd.
Hartalega’s managing director Kuan Mun Leong said this will help the company
realise its RM1.9bn Next Generation Integrated Glove Manufacturing
Complex (NGC). The NGC, when completed, will increase the group’s total
installed production capacity to over 42bn pieces of glove per year via an
addition of 72 advanced production lines. (BMSB, BT)

KLSE News: 12 June 2013 – CIMB buy BoC (San Miguel) US$300 million…

Industrial production index (IPI) increased by 4.7% yoy in Apr (-0.1% in
Mar), beating market expectations of 1.6% gain. The stronger growth was due to
increases in manufacturing and electricity indices by 6% and 8% respectively
(-0.1% and 7% respectively in Mar). The mining index, however, declined by
0.1% (-1.8% in Mar). In Jan-Apr, IPI rose 1.1%. (Bernama, BT)

Ananda Krishnan (AK) could be looking to sell his controlling stake in Maxis
for RM35bn. But the report has been refuted by AK’s close associates. The
rumours have gained momentum with the exit of seven senior executives
including its CEO. According to unnamed sources, more departures are
expected.

Bursa Malaysia CEO Datuk Tajuddin Atan is confident that the
momentum of foreign capital inflow on the local bourse will be sustained,
despite a slight retreat in buying interest recently. The recently rally on Bursa
Malaysia was helped by the active involvement of foreign investors, who have
been net buyers in the last 13 months. Their involvement is confirmation that
government programmes like the ETP and the GTP are bearing fruit, he said.
